This piece takes inspiration from nineteenth-century embroidery samplers, exploring changing ideas of gendered labour through time and the unpaid emotional labour demanded of women working in the service industry.

Created during the Arable Residency with the Victor Batte-Lay Foundation in response to pieces in their collection.
